HELPING ATHLETES
TRAIN WITH MORE
clarity AND confidence
I’m Pradeep — a physiotherapist and performance coach, and the person behind Deep Physio. I created this because I know what it’s like to sit on the sidelines wondering if your body will let you keep playing the sport you love — and I’ve spent my career since then making sure other athletes don’t have to sit with that uncertainty alone.

Built around the demands of basketball and volleyball
When I first moved to the Netherlands, I expected basketball to be part of settling into my new life here. Instead, patellar tendon pain took that away from me — not for a few weeks, but for two full years. I couldn’t play. I watched from the sideline in a new country, still building a life here, without the one thing that had always been mine wherever I went. The frustration wasn’t just physical — it was not knowing if it would ever get better, wondering if I’d made the wrong training decisions along the way, and feeling like the game I loved was slipping further away the longer it dragged on.
That experience changed how I think about rehab completely. I know what it’s like to do the exercises, follow the advice, and still not know if you’re actually getting anywhere. So when I work with an athlete now — especially with knee pain — I don’t just give them a plan. I make sure they understand why each step matters and roughly where they should expect to be along the way, because uncertainty was the hardest part of my own two years, not the pain itself.
From individual sessions to structured online guidance
I built Movement Clinic Merlijn in Amsterdam from scratch as an expat — starting a clinic in a new country, without the built-in network most people have when they open a practice. That experience taught me a lot about doing things properly, step by step, with patience. Deep Physio is the next step: taking what I’ve built in-person and making it available to athletes anywhere, through structured programs and remote coaching — not just the athletes who can walk into my clinic.

Calm guidance.
Consistent work.
Meaningful progress.
I spent 8 years working as a personal trainer before shifting fully into physiotherapy and performance coaching — years that taught me as much about how people actually stick with a plan as any qualification did. Alongside that, I built Movement Clinic Merlijn in Amsterdam, working directly with athletes on everything from early-stage rehab to high-level performance training. That combination — hands-on coaching experience plus physiotherapy training — is what shapes how I build every program: not just “is this safe,” but “will this actually get you back to competing.”
Experience you can build on
Over 20 years spent training and around sport, plus years of hands-on clinical work — treating and training athletes through everything from early-stage rehab to return-to-competition. Credentials: physiotherapist, kinesiologist, certified personal trainer (NSCA), with additional specialised coursework in Frans Bosch training methods, and extensive personal experience with knee rehab and athletic performance programming — both my own and my clients’. One of the clearest examples of that work: Ben, who I’ve worked with for 7 years — from his high school years dealing with recurring knee and ankle injuries, through structured rehab and performance programming, into a professional basketball career in Chile today.
